At Broadstone Lodge 8641, we are incredibly fortunate and immensely proud to have amongst our membership a number of distinguished brethren whose dedication to Freemasonry spans several decades. Their wealth of knowledge, experience, friendship and unwavering commitment to our Lodge are truly invaluable, and their continued support is something for which we are enormously grateful.
Last night was a particularly special occasion as we had the privilege of celebrating two remarkable milestones, with our Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W.Bro. Mike Parkes, presenting certificates recognising 50 years and 40 years of dedicated service to Freemasonry.
The first of our distinguished brethren to be recognised was Rob Smith, who received his 50-year certificate.
Rob is a highly respected and much-loved Freemason, known to so many throughout the Province and beyond. His contribution to Freemasonry over the past five decades, and indeed the support he continues to provide to our Lodge, is nothing short of extraordinary.
Despite his considerable achievements, Rob remains an incredibly humble gentleman who never seeks recognition or praise. He is a true pillar of our Lodge, someone whose experience, wisdom and encouragement continue to inspire and guide newer Freemasons as we progress along our own Masonic journeys.
Rob represents so much of what makes Freemasonry special, and we are exceptionally fortunate to have him amongst us.
Our second presentation recognised Tony Roberts, who received his 40-year certificate, marking four decades of commitment and service to Freemasonry.
Tony has enjoyed a fascinating and eventful journey, both professionally and Masonically, with many experiences and achievements along the way.
Throughout his Masonic career, Tony has undertaken numerous roles within the Lodge, always demonstrating a willingness to contribute, support his fellow brethren and help wherever needed.
It is particularly pleasing that Tony remains a regular and valued attendee at our meetings. His friendship, wonderful stories and willingness to share his experiences and offer guidance to newer brethren are greatly appreciated.
Members such as Tony remind us that Freemasonry is not simply about the offices we hold or the ceremonies we perform, but about the lifelong friendships we build and the support we offer one another.
We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to our Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W.Bro. Mike Parkes, for the exceptional manner in which he conducted both presentations.
His words were delivered with genuine warmth, dignity and the utmost respect, making the occasion particularly meaningful for both recipients and everyone fortunate enough to be present.
The thoughtful and personal nature of the presentations also gave us a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the lives, achievements and Masonic journeys of these two remarkable gentlemen.
It was a genuine privilege to witness and an evening that will undoubtedly remain a treasured memory for our Lodge.
The evening also marked the first official outing for our newly installed Lodge team, who were expertly led by our Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Gary Tyler.
Under his leadership, the team delivered a thoroughly enjoyable evening, setting an excellent standard for the Masonic year ahead. We look forward to seeing the team continue to develop and flourish over the coming months.
The generosity and fellowship continued at our Festive Board, where we were delighted to raise £163 for good causes.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed, as well as to all our visiting brethren who joined us for this memorable occasion. Your friendship and support are always greatly appreciated, and we sincerely hope to welcome you back to Broadstone Lodge again very soon.
Our next meeting will feature a Third Degree Ceremony (Raising), and we would be delighted to welcome visiting brethren who would like to join us for what promises to be another excellent evening of Freemasonry and fellowship.
If you would like to attend, please get in touch through our Lodge website.
Finally, on behalf of everyone at Broadstone Lodge 8641, we extend our warmest congratulations and heartfelt thanks to Rob and Tony.
Between them, they have dedicated an extraordinary 90 years to Freemasonry, and their continued friendship, loyalty and support are an inspiration to us all.
We look forward to sharing many more happy evenings in their company.
Congratulations, gentlemen, and thank you for everything you have done, and continue to do, for Freemasonry and Broadstone Lodge 8641.
From all the brethren of Broadstone Lodge 8641.
