In 1997 while working in Dubai W.Bro. George Cooper of the RNLI and of Broadstone Lodge 8641 met W.Bro. Terry Bates of Rowner Lodge in Gosport, Hampshire, a friendship was formed based on the Forget Me Nots of Dubai. This continues today in annual reciprocal exchange visits from Broadstone to Rowner and Rowner to Broadstone. The Forget Me Not has a history of its own back to the Second World War and is recognised by freemasons worldwide.
As our Worshipful Master Gary was otherwise committed at another official visit to Dunckerly Lodge in Poole, he asked his Senior Warden to represent him and the lodge at Rowner Lodges last meeting.
We look forward to the reciprocal visit in May 2027 to our famous Class of Instruction dinner where Gary will be getting initiated again š¬
